[York] Merry Christmas

昨天(24/12)晚上十點多



一群人從Wentworth前往Minster參加night mass



原本以為路上會爆冷



畢竟是晚上了不是白天



不過卻是還好 是冷得很舒服的冷

(晚上的Shamble St.傳說中的Ghost Walk就是在這邊，百年歷史的鬼故事都是在這條街上流傳著)



之前進去過Minster一次 但是無緣進入聆聽Choir跟體驗mass



Christmas Eve的night mass又更是意義不凡

之前好像也有說過



我不是基督徒也不是天主教徒



但



只要有經過教堂我一定都要進去走走、坐在椅子上



不要問我為什麼特別一定要鍾情於教堂



我也不知道就是覺得很寧靜 很舒服(這是無法言喻的感覺)



第一次參加mass感覺很奇妙也很忙



奇妙的是:
好多人、好多穿著長袍優雅的priests、還有看起來長得很fashion的合唱團(感覺一唱完就要去跑party)



忙的是:要一直起立坐下起立坐下、聽禱告跟annoucement、唸禱文、唱聖歌、exchange a sign of
peace、領聖餐



很新鮮

儀式還沒有開始前的有意義閒聊(knowledge gap知溝-知識代溝)、大家一起唸禱文Collect for
Purity*跟Choir唱'Holy, Holy, Holy'








中間還有個exchange a sign of peace的活動



之前有聽Tom(TESOL的另一個台灣人)說是個大家要握手然後說....的活動



當牧師說The peace of the Lord be always with you我們說And also with
you.後大家都開始動了起來

大家都握著手嘴巴裡還是不知道在說什麼



Carol小姐有幸被一位英國阿嬤祝福到 但他還是不知道阿嬤嘴巴在說什麼

The Lord's Prayer** and Breaking of the Bread(就是大家所熟知的Last
Supper裡耶穌講的話)








接著就是領聖餐禮(Communion)



一到這邊我們突然都很緊張因為牧師都不講話了 還開始看到很多穿著制服的人走來走去的



不熟悉儀式的我們只能瞎猜



領聖餐也很游移不定...因為我們都不是基督徒啊不曉得可不可以插一腳



最後



我們一些人就去體驗何為領聖餐



先跪在有Minster徽章的軟墊上

神職人員會拿著金色的大缽裡面裝著代表Jesus' body的白色小薄餅跟金色大杯子(類似King Arthur傳說中的Holy
Grail)裝著代表Jesus' blood的酒



一個一個地給跪在軟墊上的人餅跟喝一口酒



then Amen~







突然有點懷念Sis. Baker上的聖經文學跟她的填空小考



很多小故事都是當時才知道的



雖然關係是有點小複雜不過裡面的句子、文字、節奏跟寓意是越讀越覺得有趣



我的希臘同學說:你不是基督徒為什麼要過聖誕節?為什麼要去Minster?



其實沒有為什麼



我深深地相信世界上所有的神都是好朋友(雖然這個理念也被他嘲笑過)



每個宗教的最終目標跟含意都差不多-勸人為善、關懷、包容、慈善、感謝



而無關宗教的



只是想要沉浸在聖誕節的氣氛中是每個人在這節日特別需要的
